Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, President, Hutukara
Davi Kopenawa Yanomami, shaman and spokesman for the Yanomami people, delivered the Keynote Lecture 2011. He led the long-running international campaign to secure Yanomami land rights, for which he gained recognition in Brazil and around the world.
In 2010, Davi Kopenawa and French anthropologist Bruce Albert published the book La chute du ciel: paroles d’un chaman Yanomami, translated into English in 2013, with the title The Falling Sky: Words of a Yanomami Shaman.
