SALSA and SALSA XV Organizers are pleased to announce that the Wenner Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research has awarded SALSA XV Conference a US$20,000 Conference Grant. This award will support Indigenous and Traditional People’s travel and participation in the upcoming SALSA conference to be held August 4-6 at the University of Helsinki, Finland. The grant will also support simultaneous translation for the Keynote Dialogue between Professor Philipe Descola and Maria Clara Sharpei Jua and Conversations in the Lobby.
Congratulations to the SALSA Conference Organizing Team and SALSA officers on this award and many thanks for all the hard work on the Wenner Gren Proposal!
Through generous member contributions to the Voluntary Solidarity Fund, SALSA is able to make additional Travel Grants for Indigenous and Traditional Peoples. The Wenner Gren Conference Award and SALSA Solidarity Fund will cover international flights, accommodation in Helsinki, and conference registration fees. SALSA received nearly 90 requests for travel awards for Indigenous and Traditional Peoples. We have a Wait List of strong candidates so please consider making a donation to SALSA’s Voluntary Solidarity Fund!
