Take care of the language to take care of life, the territory and leave it for those who come
This project seeks to consolidate in a collaborative and community way a joint work strategy to meet the needs of linguistic strengthening in the Indigenous Resguardo / National Natural Park Yaigojé Apaporis (Colombian Amazon). A fundamental purpose is to support the efforts of local authorities in the consolidation and implementation of the Indigenous Government in the territory, by attending to organizational needs in education and self-government. For us it will be fundamental to start from conversations about the identified needs, the possible routes of attention and the multiple understandings of what a “language” is. We will also accompany the upcoming Congress of the Apaporis Indigenous Council. This work is a first step in the construction of my master’s thesis.
