For a present past: archaeology as school content in indigenous basic education
In this project, I propose to carry out a bibliographical survey of academic research in archaeology, anthropology and history carried out on and/or with the Munduruku people, from the middle and upper Tapajós, in order to develop syllabus content for the “Culture and Identity” school subject offered to indigenous students in the 6th to 9th grades of elementary school, with the aim of providing a differentiated education within the indigenous school context. This research is a collaborative investigation with Munduruku teachers from the middle Tapajós region. In addition to the bibliographic survey, I intend to participate in and promote dialogues between this research and the knowledge of shamans, elders and specialists in ethnographic and archaeological material stored in local institutions in the state of Pará – Brazil.
