SALSA conferences are among the world's foremost venues for presenting original research on lowland South America. Our conferences are among the best sites for exchange of information among specialists in lowland South American studies.

SALSA has held six conferences since 2002. At these conferences scholars have presented nearly two hundred papers totalling over 95 hours, including extended discussions. SALSA conferences have also hosted poster papers, film showings, workshops, discussion forums, publication exchanges, museum receptions, and other events.
